Munson's Titan Shredder reduces the volume of industrial, medical and consumer waste including scrap plastics, fibrous products, fiberglass, wood products, paper/cardboard, gypsum wallboard, glass and other waste products.
It features dual, positive-feeding rotors with extended cutter teeth and low-speed, high-torque drive(s) to shear and shred heavy volumes of large solids with minimal power consumption.
Tight tolerances between the cutting surfaces of the rotors and side-mounted combs eliminate or minimize binding or plugging, while imparting little or no heat to the material, depending on application.
The cutter heads are mounted along two parallel shafts that are hexagonal in cross section, yielding greater strength, higher fatigue resistance and less deflection than traditional keyed bar shafts. The heads are constructed of proprietary steel that is heat-treated and through-hardened, yet allows re-sharpening of the cutter tips.
The shredder is offered in three widths: 28 in. (711 mm) with single 20 hp (15 kw) drive; 42 in. (1067 mm) with dual 25 hp (18.5 kw) drives; and 60 in. (1524 mm) with dual 50 hp (37 kw) drives.
It is constructed of carbon steel as standard, and available in stainless steel with optional smart-auto-reversing controls, ram feeders, extended
support legs, specialized hoppers, and standard gravity-discharge outlets or transitions for pneumatic collection.
MUNSON® also offers Maxum Crushers with conical, solid carbide tips able to crush materials that are too hard, dense, cohesive or abrasive to shred.
When primary shredding must be followed by secondary size reduction, Titan Shredders are often paired with Screen Classifying Cutters, Hammer Mills or other size reduction equipment also manufactured by MUNSON.
