MAXUMTM CRUSHERS

Reduce large blocks and chunks of abrasives, lime, candy, frozen products and other problematic materials into manageable size ranges

Munson's Maxum Crusher reduces large blocks of frozen products, highly abrasive products, dense/compressed compounds and other problematic materials up to 2 ft x 2 ft x 6 ft (610 x 610 x 3658 mm) in size and 1600 lb (726 kg) in weight — applications that exceed the capabilities of conventional shredders.

Material is positively fed through the top intake chute, and discharges via gravity to a collection hopper or independently powered belt, bucket or screw conveyor.

The counter rotating shafts are driven individually at low speed with high torque by dual motors with direct-coupled shaft-mounted gear reducers. The staggered array of solid carbide, conically shaped tungsten carbide tips protruding beyond the rotor discs simultaneously pull material into the machine and crush it until particles can pass between the centerline of the rotors.

When equipped with bed screens, the unit continues to crush particles until they are able to pass through screen apertures which range from 2 in. (51 mm) down to 1/4 in. (6 mm), producing narrow particle size ranges.

The two 14 in. (355 mm) diameter shafts rotate at 25 to 35 RPM, reducing up to 240 cu ft (6.8 cu m) of sized product per hour, depending on material.

The interference fit of conical tips into receiver slots allows rapid replacement for ease of maintenance and minimal downtime.

Maxum crushers are offered in four widths: 18, 24, 30 and 36 in. (457, 610, 762 and 914 mm) with drives sized according to application.

Rotors with staggered arrays of conical tips

Rotors with staggered arrays of conical tips reduce blocks of materials up to 2 ft x 2 ft x 6 ft (610 x 610 x 3658 mm), and up to 1600 lb (726 kg). Bed screens size particles in narrow ranges from 2 in. down to 1/4 in. (51 to 6 mm). Also available without bed screens for higher throughput and mixed particle sizes.
